Re: 2001 taurus with old sho supercharger

1989-1992 SHO's came with a 3.0L 24-valve normally aspirated V-6, SHO's from 1993-1995 had either the 3.0L 24-valve normally aspirated V-6 in the manual transmission cars, and the autos had a 3.2L 24-valve normally aspirated V-6. The SHO from 1996-1999 had a normally aspirtated 3.4L 32-valve V-8. As brokenantimatter pointed out, none came with superchargers.

Not sure what options exist for you. There's the usual cold air intake, oiled filter, PCM chip, and exhaust, but I'm not sure any of those would gain you much.

I know this topic has been addressed before on this forum, but I haven't followed them. You may want to search this forum for suggestions and what's worked for others.

12v or 24v?

12v you have plenty of options easily accessible to you.

24v this has almost as many options, they are more costly but the 24v already has a lot of hp.

Hi there, Robert Reece here, you could do an engine swap, but it will not be easy, get a complete 1996 thru 1999 SHO, It's got the v-8 3.4l 32valve . 235hp,it's got the AX4N automatic (only) .Try to make sure that the camshafts have been welded or pinned. Theres been a problem with the camshafts moving forward and ruining the engine . I beleive there is a super-charger available but i don't remember who. Go on line to the SHO Clubs to find it. Good Luck On Your Project........
