Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa Scuderia Askolin

1958 Finnish team Scuderia Askolin had wonderful lineup of racing cars. Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa, Ferrari 500 TRC Scaglietti Spyder, Ferrari 500 TR Scaglietti , Jaguar D-type and Mercedes-Benz 300 SL. Small country like Finland that was something new. Scuderia Askolin was the first finnish racing team. In 1958 biggest race was Eläintarhan Ajot or Eltsu as we finnish people call it. The number one finnish driver in those days were Curt Lincoln.
1958 Curt Lincoln drives 250 Testa Rossa second place in Eltsu. Skip to 14:20 to see Ferrari.

Kit is Hasegawa HC-19 with some photo etched kits. I needed to meke some little modifications to make it look right car. Wings between nose and pontoons, needed a little "stretching". Then I sanded that long nose just a little shorter, to make opening bigger. To the engine compartment you can see in the corners four frame tubes. Racing numbers and Askolin arms I draw with Inkscape. Colour is a mix of Tamiya paints. These cars did not shine so well, so hi gloss polishing is covered some low gloss lacquer.

I like your style a lot, very realistic appearance!! Clean and crisp construction.

More is coming. 1967 1000 lakes rally, Mini Cooper Timo Mäkinen and bonnet up. This could take some time, because I´m just started to built it.

There is so many kits on my list to get and this is one of them. It could be a little more polished, but don't know if its soppoused to be like that. Either way its a beautiful ferrari you built.

Paint was really like that, it really did not shine. Sadly i don´t have a permit to show any good pictures to make it proof.

Thank you Roman! I have to say that your models were really amazing, really glad that you came to nordic last year. Are you coming to Nordic Challenge this year? By the way, your Porsche is coming up a real beauty.
