Smile 1997 safari flickering headlights

Hi everyone. Iave got a 1997 GMC safri that has flickering lights on the dash Headlights just about anything thats lit. Alternater test shows charging ok. Any suggestions as to what this problem may be. regards

My Saturn did a similar thing. The battery negative cable was loose. When tightened, the fault went away. Odd that it started fine.

My 94 safari did the same several years ago. Turns out the blocking diode was going bad. They don't recommend replacing the diode in these alternators so I just swapped it out. Spring for the new lifetime warranty unit. Save you the trouble of doing it again in 6 months.
