1996 4.3 Blazer has trouble starting.
My father in law recently bought a 96 Blazer with the 4.3. It's having trouble starting. It cranks for a couple times before either starting or not starting. I need a little help. It's getting plenty of gas into the intake but takes a lot of cranks with very little luck starting it. Today I tried to start it and it just cranked, then I left the key in the on position and waited 10 seconds and turned it and it started right up. Any help would be appreciated on this. thank you.
Just went out and while the Blazer was running I unplugged the MAF sensor and it ran a little better, but when I plugged it back in it died. I also noticed that when I first started the engine for about 5 to 10 seconds it idled fine at about 1500 RPMs and then dropped to 500 RPMs and surged between 5 and 800 RPMs as it idled.
