duel exhaust

allright i want to put duel exhaust on my 97 2.0 non turbo but i want to fab my own header pipe so that the 2 left cyls run one pipe and out the left side of the car and the 2 right cyls run out the right side of the car and wanted to know how bad it would mess with my performance and if it would screw up my computer?

Re: duel exhaust

Why would you want to do something like that? You realize you O2 sensors will not send the correct information to the ECU if you do a setup like that.

Re: duel exhaust

Also with being non-turbo, they require a decent amount of back pressure from the exhaust. With the header not being collected altogether, there would be a loss of power.

Secondly, Blackcrow is right about the O2 sensor. You would need to run 2 seperate sensors for each side, and then somehow wire it up to the ECU to understand why there's 2 upstream and 2 downstream. Going to say that's nearly impossible if you don't know electronics, ECUs & wiring

And lastly, it would be stupid loud, and not talking good loud. Would sound like a very annoying ricer-burner.

Re: duel exhaust

if u want duel exhaust use a muffler from a srt4 then extend the tips to the sides thats the best idea i got for u would be clunky under the car tho best thing to do is remove the area where spare tire goes and put there so its hidden and then run the tips out to where u please
