Question Ignition Lock removal

Is there another way of removing the ignition lock switch without having the key to turn to the on position to access the detent pin?

The last remaining key we had is lost, so picked up a replacement ign lockset from Advance Auto, but instructions call for turning ignition to on position to access lockpin.
