HobbyEasy (Hong Kong)

Has anyone dealt with these folks (hobbyeasy.com)? Their website, selection and prices look pretty impressive. Any problems? What's the most effective shipment method to the U.S? Thanks in advance for sharing, advice..

(I like that they have a wide inventory of car and airplane stuff from even the most obscure little companies around the world. It could become a one-stop order source cutting down on shipping all those tiny boxes from all points of the compass.)

Re: HobbyEasy (Hong Kong)

I've had about 20 orders from them over the last couple of years. Highly recommended and they seem to have the best prices on average of all the big online retailers and a huge variety of stock.
Order turn around time is generally pretty quick and HK post is very cheap (to Australia at least).
Sorry if this sounds like an ad for Hobby Easy, I'm in no way affiliated with them, but they are always my first port of call when I need anything.

Regards, Dan

I think that it is nice to have an opinion from a different person from a different country, i also bought many things from Hobbyeasy from a long time, and i have not had any problems with them, actually i have more problems with the local post office than with sellers.

Regarding to the best shipping method, try small package (registered), it has a tracking number, so then you can track your package

btw.. i'm from Brazil

I ordered from them about 10 times during the last year and there was no problems at all.
They ship really fast and the models are packed really well.
For me, the best shippment is registered SAL, it takes about 10-12days while i get it.
I'm from Slovakia, which is in the middle Europe by the way.
Sometimes it happened, that something, what I wanted was out of stock, so I send them an e-mail and they backordered it. It took about 4-5 weeks, but I think, that is a great service.

I ordered from Hobbyeasy a couple of times and had no issues with it. The service is great and the price is fairly cheap. I also mailed a couple of times with the owner and he is a very nice guy. I can very recommend this amazing online store.

Re: HobbyEasy (Hong Kong)

Hobby Easy are great, no doubt, but check around first. I've found many items that are cheaper at other retailers, and when you factor in shipping (which can be higher from Hobby Easy sometimes) you will find a good number of items for less elsewhere.
Check all the main retailers before placing your order. My main one is Strada Sports, but I've recently found Scalehobbyist.com to be excellent as well. I also regularly use Media Mix Hobby and HLJ.
Check around. It's fun to look at all this cool stuff, even if what you want does end up being cheaper at Hobby Easy after all.

Re: HobbyEasy (Hong Kong)

I like to order there, too.

If you are not in a hurry, you can order by surface small packet - it may take 6-8 weeks, but the shipping from HK to Germany then is even cheaper than a parcel within Germany! When ordering a single Tamiya kit I always do it this way.

Re: HobbyEasy (Hong Kong)

Thanks for all the input guys. Like everyone else, I find myself reading build threads and discovering unbelievably cool aftermarket products that my usual internet retailers have never heard of. So in searching around I often find one distributor that carries one thing and another that carries something else but not the first item....hassle. It doesn't make sense to make four $20 orders and pay $60 in shipping for all that little stuff. Then there's the hassle of keeping track of everything and knowing all these little retailers have my personal info on a "secure" database somewhere. I guess I'm looking for the biggest on-line hobby shop I can find so that I can combine all the little stuff I want into one substantial order.

Since starting this thread I notice one of the products Hobby Easy caries that I am interested in (PART photoetch of Poland) does so only virtually. The order is processed in Hong Kong but shipped from another internet hobby retailer in Poland in a little box with separate postage etc. So far that's the only manufacturer I've noticed they handle like that.

Re: HobbyEasy (Hong Kong)

i really like what they have on offer on their webstore.
the prices are very reasonable and postage options extensive.

it's a shame that the webstore isn't any faster though.

Re: HobbyEasy (Hong Kong)

Fast and cheap shipping. I ordered the Top Studio MP4/4 set and had it in less than 2 weeks and it shipped for less than US$4...However, they didn't send any notice of shipment or anything of the sort. Rather odd, but hey--it came safe and sound.

Bought from them MANY times. Probably at least 50 times in the last 5-6 years. Always top notch service and fast and cheap shipping.

Re: HobbyEasy (Hong Kong)

Sorry, I had to reply to an old thread, but I just found this place, and searched this forum for any feed back on it.

I just bought 2 sheets of SMS carbon for 25% less each than on SMS' website. SMS wanted $10 to ship these to Canada, these guys charge $1.40. I'm sold!

Instead of paying $30.00 for two sheets of carbon fiber, I'm paying $17.00. Might have to get me another sheet now.
