1991 Buick Regal Custom 2 Door 3.8L V6 Check Engine Code 43 Problem
We had our car looked at cause the check engine light comes on from time to time. And we had it scanned and it found a code 43, what does this code mean, and what is required to fix this problem, and is it very expensive to fix?

Re: 1991 Buick Regal Custom 2 Door 3.8L V6 Check Engine Code 43 Problem
Welcome to AF!!
Code 43 is a knock sensor error. It could mean that the plug to the knock sensor is not making contact or the sensor may be bad. The sensors are not expensive to purchase nor are they hard to replace. My manual is in storage but look on the back of the block next to the firewall. It will be round with what appears to be a large nut and a button on the end. There should be a connector attached to the end. You can change this yourself but I would suspect you have a connector not a sensor issue so it may cost nothing to replace. |
