Tamiya Yamaha YZR-500 '02

Hey guys, I've been busy with this kit and have no time to post My very first time tackling Bikes! I have no idea bikes are so complicated X.x
Bear with the ugly stand hahaha! I will lay another urethane clear coat again, now it's all lightly sanded with 2000grit sand paper. Chassis and other parts are primed. The cowling and body parts are almost complete, I do have a question on aluminium thin foil decal that Tamiya gave. I am having trouble figuring how am I going to place it onto the kit. The foil that I am refering to is the refletive foil that they use for F1 kit at engine compartment. Pictures below, thanks everyone!

Thanks!

Re: Tamiya Yamaha YZR-500 '02

Nice start! Gotta love the red livery!

I finished the Gauloises version from '01 back a month or so ago. I went all out in detailing it, scratchbuilding a ton of electrics and stuff Tamiya left off. I love these models because you can do as much detailing as you want and it still turns out as an excellent looking model.

Good luck and I will be watching...

I'd definitely buy the Pitwalk Guide for the "500 and MotoGP Machines". It has *a ton* of pics. I can send what I used as reference (which was from '02 I believe, as there were very few changes between '01 and '02). Just PM me your email and I'll send you what I have. Otherwise, I'd buy the book. It's probably $40 but worth it if you intend to detail bikes...

Re: Tamiya Yamaha YZR-500 '02

Little update on this Yamaha. Airbrushed the engine and the frames. I airbrushed the black part of the front cowling and the rear tail (used to be decal) and I will be replace the front head cowling with the alluminium sticker that they provided(the number 6). I have a question, how am I going to stick it on perfectly without any folds or wrinkle? and am I suppose to stick in before I do another clear coat? or stick it after my clear coat?

Thanks!

Airbrushed second layer of urethane clear. Now my problem is how do I get the number on to the front cowling?

Wetsanded the clear coat with 2000grit sand paper. I just can't bear it and did a dry fit *I am too excited lol!*
