wheel hub/ brakes

looking for some insight on a decent brand of wheel hub for drivers side front of a 97 grand prix gt with 138,xxx. hoping to find a decent one under $100 cuz i don't want to break the bank to much.

Also, am in need of good brake pads for the rear, stores around me only sell the duralast kind or valucraft.

Re: wheel hub/ brakes

Your best two options are either the Timken and or the AC Delco GM brands. Avoid the cheap overseas brands hubs. Many times these are defective or will be in a short period of time.

Re: wheel hub/ brakes

You can only spend what you have to spend BUT I think I'm pretty much inline with most people on here that would tell you that on most parts you want to use the OEM GM parts to replace parts. Here are some resources that I have used but there are many more that sell genuine GM parts at a steep discount. The issue is that you are going to spend a lot more than 50 bucks on the wheel hub even at a steep discount.

www.gmpartsdirect.com - Usually has one of the cheapest prices but they sometimes try and kill you on the shipping cost.

http://www.gmpartsdepartment.com/ Is one that has very good prices and the shipping seems a little bit more in line with what the shipping should be.

There are many OEM discount part web sites and I recommend looking at as many as possible if you are in a crunch. Ultimately you can only spend what you can spend but I don't think anyone here is going to say that you should use a part from China for replacing any of the parts for your car.
