I've put a new head gasket (had head shaved) New H2O pump, even New Cat., New thermostat. New distributor shaft, new dist. cap, new rotor button, new wires new plugs. I HAVE VERIFIED ALL PLUGS, WIRES ETC, ARE FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY.The engine runs absolutely GREAT BUT, It idles rough as a corn cob. I have a misfire at IDLE (OBD II) #300 Random, some times with a 301 sometimes 303, sometimes 301,302, 303, 304. I've been told told to poor inj. cleaner in the tank and POUR SeaBreeze motor tune-up in the vacuum line 1/3 bottle @ a time till near stall cut the engine and 5 mins. later start engine. THIS IS NOT WORKING. Anybody got a clue what I can do NEXT ?????

Re: Random Misfire, Rough Idle I-6 4.0L
I found my problem ( I think). I put another rotor button in it and the check engine light hasn't came back on. I've only driven it 15 miles, (it still idles rough) the check engine light has not came back on. It was coming on within 3-5 miles. Not Incompletes just the misfire code.![]() GO FIGURE. |

Re: Random Misfire, Rough Idle I-6 4.0L
Is it fixed or still idling rough?
I had a similar problem with mine, it ended up being a bad connection at the injectors. I jest bent the tabs on the injectors so they would get better contact with the injector plugs. That was after plugs, wires, cat rotor, and different injectors (e-bay ford 5.0). Mine was also throwing a code, I don't remember the number, but it was injector circuit malfunction. Dustin |
