Infomercial products

Has anyone else ever bought one of those products from late night infomercials?

So I have to admit that for YEARS I've been watching Jack LaLanne sell me his Power Juicer and I always sit there and go - Well, if it wasn't so darned expensive, I'd totally buy one. Then I saw the price dropped on the model I wanted, so I decided to splurge.

I made my first juice with it tonight and it was AWESOME! I made strawberry, pineapple, carrot juice and it was DELISH. Then I used the pulp leftover from the juice and mixed it with lowfat vanilla yogurt to make my own "homemade" fruit yogurt. It's awesome, too!

Okay, so what have YOU bought from an infomercial, and did it live up to your expectations?

Re: Infomercial products

I came across a Slap Chop a while back. (Someone else bought it).

It's not very useful. The chopped food ends up getting stuck in the blades. In less time it takes to get it from the drawer, chop the food, clean it up etc, one could just get a knife and chop the food up in the conventional way.

What about that spray-on hair for balding guys from a few years ago? Talk about bizarre. I would never use that regardless of my desperation level.

I have TONS of infomercial stuff! I never buy it from the ad, I usuially end up buying it later in the store, I have :

The Magic Bullet (Blender Thingy)
Slap Chop (With The Graty)
The Dent King (Car Dent Remover)
Microtouch (Shaver)
ProActive (Acne Crap)

Ive bought Oxy Clean, I even have a Snuggie (Blanket with Sleeves)

And most of it has been good. The magic bullet is great, microtouch gets used every couple of days, proactive got rid of alot of my acne, and I swear by oxyclean to get my clothes clean.

I do agree that the slap chop sucks, the food does get stuck to it. Dent king was crap, and we wont even get into the snuggie (I may have been drunk when buying it)

I do believe it was called the DING King. And my brother actually bought one. It worked on the smaller dents like from pounding fists or shopping carts, but the giant 2 square foot fender "hole" he had from hitting a deer was left untouched... Gee, I wonder why?

Oh, and I have a "snuggie-type blanket" and I have used it before. I keep my house at about 67*F and on cold nights, the house has trouble even staying that warm. Although I usually just use it as a blankie. LOL

Re: Infomercial products

I have a snuggie that I got for Christmas a couple of years ago. It works pretty well for playing video games.

Other than that, I don't usually buy from infomercials.

Josh, I'll use one of my sentry bots to kill you for your millions of bottlecaps and then proceed to go to Tenpenny Tower and buy myself a luxury suite.
