2004 CRV Headlight Warning Realy

Could someone advise me as to the location of this relay ? It isn't working and I'd like to replace it before I inadvertently kill my battery.

Thanks.

Re: 2004 CRV Headlight Warning Realy

I have a 2003 Honda CR-V and when my headlight warning buzzer didn't sound when I opened the door, I traced the problem to the door switch. If your interior lights don't come on and/or your "key in ignition" warning does not chime then the problem might be in the door switch.

It is located on the pillar between the front/back doors, covered with a rubber boot. I took it apart, cleaned it with a contact spray cleaner then tested it by grounding it against the frame and pushing the switch in & out a couple of times.

The interior lights came on, the headlight buzzer worked as did the "key in ignition" chime.

I figured the cause was because the seat belt retractor didn't retract the seat belt quickly enough and there were a couple of times I accidentally closed the door with the buckle hitting the door switch.

Hope this fix might work for you.

Re: 2004 CRV Headlight Warning Realy

I wish the problem was that easy. It has been narrowed down to that relay/buzzer but I just don't know where it is. Not the biggest problem in the world but I have left the lites on a couple of times and didn't notice them until it got a bit darker out. Thanks for the response. Iwas beginning to think this forum was dead.
