2002 Park Avenue (not Ultra)
Hello, recently my 2002 PA not ultra 3.8 just over 100K miles just started stuttering or hesitating when taking off from a dead stop. It doesn't do it all the time but maybe 1 out of 3 pull offs. It otherwise runs fine. Starts and idles fine and drives well even on the highway.
Now my mechanic noticed it only does this going forward. I can take off in reverse and go as fast as I want and it never hesitates. He couldn't figure it out so I took it to the dealer who changed the MAF sensor then the TPS and a motor mount but $1K later and the car runs exactly the same. I took it back to the dealer and got the service manager to take a ride with me and it ran perfect the entire test drive. Leaving the dealer and it started doing it again. I really don't want to keep throwing money at this but it really is driving me crazy. Any ideas how I can trouble shoot this thing? |

Re: 2002 Park Avenue (not Ultra)
To me, the stuttering and hesitating sounds like an ignition issue. Maybe a coil. Wires and plugs possible too.
