Tbl with 2002 Nissan Maima CEL!

Diagnostic Trouble codes -

P0139 - H20 sensor on bank1 sensor 2 (down stream)
P1147 - Heated O2 sensor 2
P0021 - Intake valve timing control

1) Replaced one bad HO2 sensor on bank 1 sensor 2.
2) Cleaned the cam sensor connections.
3) Reset + clear codes.

Mileage? Service History?

Swap plugs to denso/ngk iridium, and while doing that, DIY compression test (buy 20$ gauge)

Re: Tbl with 2002 Nissan Maima CEL!

This car has 120k miles, so it's time for a new H02 sensor.
The owner had new plugs put in during a tune up, but that was it.

There's no CEL now, but it still needs togo through a drive cycle.

New plugs? If theyre B O S C H ...then theres your problim. Have to be replaced.

The compression tst gives also an idea how well valves seal. At this mileage there should be no problem there - but then also no valve related err code...

Coilpacks start to die after 100k. Only replacement helps when hiccup symptoms appear... ouch$

First issue is charge voltage, check at battery , then at ECU with a dmm (14.2-14.7V): Alternator is not the best part in maximas... Make a connector into cig lighter to keep eye on the voltage while driving: If fluctuating, replace alt.

Another issue is those battery connectors which stretch and become loose causing alt to fry and also causing nuisance error codes. Clean, Swap the connectors or improvise screw or whatever between the connector and pole to keep em tight...

i would go to ngk and you can buy them cheaper at advanced auto zone don't carry ngk's and if you go to nappa or car quest you will pay double the price for ngk.
