Subaru WRX Twins

Hello,
I built this two kits as a tribute to SWRT and to Colin McRae who reached world title in 1995. I used tarmac transkit with decals from Renaissance and Zero paints.

Enjoy!

Re: Subaru WRX Twins

Hello all, thanks for your comments.
Steve: I used 555 Rally Montecarlo Blue ('94-'96) 53C. First I had white surfacer on body but shade looked too pale to me. So I put gray surfacer first and than I reached the right shade... I think :-)

Thanks for the reply about the paint, most appreciated. Can I also ask you how easy was the tarmac transkit to use..?? Any fit issues or things to look out for..?? Reason I ask is because I was thinking of buying one myself to convert one of my Subaru's to tarmac spec. I also noticed they produce one for the Subaru Legacy as well...

Re: Subaru WRX Twins

Steve: Transkit is OK, no problem with it. You´ll need to modify few things. First you need to bend down rear arms to fit them with rear suspensions which are shorter in tarmac version. Than you should cut out, flip and than attach again rear axles to make them fits with hubs.
Quite hard is to bend down front arms, so you should better drill holes at the bottom of resin suspensions and make them longer with hard wire which you will glue into the holes. I used part of needle instead of wire. That´s all, no more modifications.
Legacy kit has the same chassis, so the changes will be the same I hope. I´ll built all three Colin´s versions of Legacy, but all in gravel specifications (RAC, 1000 lakes and New Zealand).
I thing TK for Legacy is the same except rims.
I hope this will helps you, I can make photo of tarmac chassis, if you want to.
