PCM on a 92 Lincoln Towncar
Where might the PCM be located on a 92 Lincoln Towncar? I've been having some Transmission problems where it starts off in a higher gear, then shifts down as I rev the engine. I took it to a transmission shop and they said it had an error code of KAM 512
I looked up the code and it seems to be related to the PCM. Any help is appreciated. |

Re: PCM on a 92 Lincoln Towncar
The KAM 512 is telling you that the keep alive memory (KAM) is losing battery power and therefore is wiped clean when the power loss occurs. It may be a battery on its way out, a bad connection between the battery and PCM, or a bad PCM itself.
I do believe on your model year that the PCM is located somewhere under the driver side dashboard.

Re: PCM on a 92 Lincoln Towncar
It's either under the driver side dashboard or close to the driver side firewall in the engine compartment. Make sure the connectors are clean and the wiring does not runs close to any ignition components.
As Blue)(Fusion says it could be a bad battery too, something similar happened to me with the airbag module when the battery went out. Best regards, Oscar.
