runs rough at stop lights and low rpms

Hi there, i got a 2005 neon . i just turned 100,000 miles last week. but my problem is that it runs real rough when i start it. it will run rough but then when i get going on road it is fine. also at stoplights, itll surge and run choppy till i get up to speed. ive replaced the camshaft position snsor twice this year in this car. there is no check engine light yet . . it never has died yet on me but it sure feels like it wants to, even if i slip it in neutral it runs choppy at stops

I just replaced the coil to fix that on my 2001 Sunday and believe it or not the best price I saw was an Accel from Jegs

Look at the maintenance schedule for 100K Miles!
Sometimes just by doing the regular maint, can weed out problems.
1) Plugs + wires
2) upstream HO2 sensors
3) Clean MAF, IAC, and electrical connections with CRC Massive air flow cleaner, use dielectric grease for electrial connections for protection.
4) Both Air/fuel filter

I assume that plugs are a given. Neons don't have a Mass air flow and it says on the Throttle body not to clean do to special a coating on the throttle blade

Re: runs rough at stop lights and low rpms

yeah, i changed them in october, however i put bosch platinum in the car. I have heard a few forumers say not to use this kind . also they were not gapped right. should have been gapped at .35 but it was more like .45. should i use the regular plugs like champion or ngk?

Re: runs rough at stop lights and low rpms

A lot of Dodge mechanics swear that stock Champions work best. I use them or the Champion Double Platinum close to them but with platinum tips.

Re: runs rough at stop lights and low rpms

Hi there, I got a 04 SE neon with just about your same problem. No light on dash, and it fails at idle, but as soon as you kick it it works fine. Did you find out what your problem was? thanks.

Possible fuel pump, have your fuel pressure checked.
