Re: Ferrari F430 GT Krohn Racing
very nice project.
Looking the price of the studio 27 kit I prefer to build alone my GT2 starting directly from the challenge version, and making AF corse redbull car, but I also have a decal set for the verion u are building. How about the wheels? in moke up pics they look very nice. Very interested to see the final look of the completed model

Re: Ferrari F430 GT Krohn Racing
Awesome start, I have to subscribe. That dash looks incredible and the use of negative film is brilliant and I will have to steal the idea!

Think is exactly the same sheet of your box. Studio27 guys were very kindly and sold me it separately during my scratchbuild, and I wanted to save it cause at the time I had not (still) the contatc to make my custom decals as I can do today. The original idea was to use theme for the upcoming (and never arrived) stunning model scheduled and presented here by Technomodel Milano (same hands of the 575 gtc). The sheet is brand new and it is still sealed in its plastic, maybe PM me and we can talk of money then

Re: Ferrari F430 GT Krohn Racing
Time for an update!!
![]() First, I scratchbuilt and wired the electronic boxes. For the cable plugs I used heat shrink tubing: ![]() Next, I built the central console and added all the switches and buttons needed. I also added the gear and brake levers. At this time I also wired the fire extinguisher system: ![]() Then, I put the electronic boxes in place and added the air cooling box in itīs place behind the seat (the helmet hose will be added later, once I glue the roll cage): ![]() I also added the tubing of the gear lever system: ![]() ![]() Next, I added the seatbelts to the seat. The photoetched pieces are from a Scale Motorsport kit. I used fabric from Tuner Model Manufactory. The good news are...the fabric has an adhesive backing...the bad news...once you put the fabric in place, you can see it is a little bit translucent: ![]() Hereīs the seat in place (the shoulder belts will be fastened to the roll cage later). I put the hose of the air cooling box in place and added the blue and green decals used by the event officials after they inspect the car: ![]() ![]() ![]() With all the interior details in place, itīs time to glue the dash. This is the finished interior: ![]() ![]() Thatīs it for the moment, thanks for watching!! Next I will scratchbuild the roll cage. Hereīs a photo of what I have so far:

Re: Ferrari F430 GT Krohn Racing
Waow absolutely great Sam !!
What is the air cooling hose made of ? Is it something scratched ? it looks so real and the flexible part is longer (one unique full piece ?) that what I used to put in my models and would solve most of my length problems...! |
