02' Grand Caravan Starting Issues

Hello Forum,

My 2002 Grand Caravan has an intermittent starting issue. When starting, it just "clicks", however if you keeping trying it will start perfectly. It used to do it intermittently, but now it does it every time. Please help.

Thank You

Re: 02' Grand Caravan Starting Issues

If you're hearing a click it's a good bet the solenoid contacts in the starter are shot. Next time it clicks tap on the starter with a hammer or the like. If it cranks you just proved it. Best way to prove it is to verify 12vdc are getting to both connections on the starter when you turn the key. If the voltage is there you proved the contacts are bad. You can either change the starter or change just the contacts for half the price but more work.
