Re: McLaren F1-GTR "Gulf" LM'96, 1:24 Studio27

got a couple of questions for you.

i) How will you make the clear parts?

ii) I've noticed that you've primarily worked on making a "perfect" body but don't see any sort of fixing/locating method on those body panels.
Will you be working them onto the seperate body panels or will you leave them?

I'll show it a bit later. I already have made some moulds.

Hi Pal,

Your work is really impressive.
Didn't you think about a short-run production of whole body parts for sale?
I will buy at least one set of resin body of Mac.

One thing that you could do and would even keep you from having to do any extra work is to allow an online plastic/resin printing place to have the plans to print these up in pieces. You would get a percentage of each kit and they would do all the work for you.

I already didn't use the milling. See post #77

So, today I want to show how I made the front glass.
At first we take a piece of transparent plastic from packing.

Then we heat it up over a gas cooker flame. It is necessary to use cotton gloves.

When plastic becomes soft, we pull it on a mandrel.

Then we cut out the necessary part and level edges with an emery paper.

Wow great work!! I tried a similar thing with a lambo windsheild but the clear styrene kept deforming with the heat. Glad to see this build is up & running again

This reminds me of when we used to make slot car bodies at school with the vacuum form. Keep us posted!!!
