transmission issue

99 Olds Intrigue, 3800, now at 213,000 miles.

Last year, I noticed that after I exited the highway, slowed down to yield and then go, the transmission seemed to slipped between 0 - 20 mph. Afterwards I took my car to a nearby transmission shop and explained to them what was going on. Two days later they called me to inform me that they scanned it, no codes showed up, and after they removed the pan there were no signs of internal damage.
But days later, the problem still exists. There is a long stretch of road to my home and decided to see if it will do it again. Checked for any vehicles behind me, since it was clear. Came to a complete stop and then punched it, everything shifted fine. Been in stop/go traffic, through several traffic lights, it shifts perfect.
Now recently, after getting off the highway to go to work ( live 50 miles away from work ) there is a loop that brings me to the road to work, I yield and go, it started to slip then. Before it only happened to me going home, now it's doing this to me as I'm to work as well. With a traffic light nearby the offramp, it would hard shift as I go from a red light. It only hard shifts on some occasions, doesn't do it everytime.
But it only does this as I'm leaving the highway, can anyone enlighten me about what's going on cause this problem has caused me many nights of lack sleep due to stress. I love the Intrigue and have tried hard to keep her on the road. Also due to alot of bs just can't afford a car note right now. So I'm sending out a SOS. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Re: transmission issue

How is the fluid level?

Coming to a complete stop then accelerating hard in a straight line is one thing. Accelerating hard out of a corner/off a ramp can force all the trans oil (or engine oil) to one side of the pan or case and potentially starve the oil pickup. This would lower line pressure and possibly cause poor clutch clamping and poor shifts.

Does the symptom occur when coming off a ramp which curves in the opposite direction? Does running the oil level an extra pint over full help the symptoms?

Yes, both offramps that I use are curved. Early into the transmission problems, I checked the fluid level and it was low, within the cross-stitch on the dipstick. It shifted fine afterwards without changing how I took the offramps. I recently had to add more fluid but it didn't change anything, it still slips. I'll try finding a more flatter surface to recheck the fluid level before I go home from work. I wonder if maybe the filter may need to be changed again.
