Re: Playing in the snow.

Nice, thats how I snapped my power steering pump shaft off. It was still worth it though.

Re: Playing in the snow.

I had a blast, it's too bad that the snow was not a little deeper though. It was tough getting through some of it due to an almost 6" hard crust on top and then the bottom being compacted to almost solid ice, but the BFG's preformed great. I'm down a little on lower end torque because of the larger tires but it is not too bad, it'll still turn them in the snow and as for the mud I stay away from it, it's easier cleaning off snow than mud lol.

Re: Playing in the snow.

Nice videos.
Hmmm...... GM called it the Avalanche for a reason..........

BTW have you tried dedicated snow tires? They may give better performance than the BFG all-terrain tires that I think you have on there right now.

Yes they are BFG A/T's. They are a fairly decent all around tire I find especially with the weight of the Avalanche. There is no doubt that a dedicated snow tire will perform better but the A/T's were expensive enough at $405 a tire installed, never mind rims too boot especially since I would have to buy 20" rims as the Pro Comp kit states no smaller than a 20" diameter rim due to the steering knuckle design.

Re: Playing in the snow.

I had bfg A/T KO's on my jeep and loved them, They run about 800 for the set I want for the silvy so theyre gonna wait. I also want to move up to like a 17 or 18 inch rim too.

Thats crazy, this is the second time I have heard someone say something about having a minimum 20" rim after a lift. Although I've found nothing on it save for Rough Country Suspension(requires at least an 18"). Most knuckle kits have issues with backspacing, and there is where your min-max will be key.
