John Lennon's Town & Country

I didn't realize John Lennon ever HAD a T&C, but he did. He owned it when he was murdered 30 years ago. It's being sold today...check out the car:

Lennon's Chrysler sold for....$5,500. Not quite the $40,000 some were anticipating.

The fascination with Lennon and the Beatles in general is basically fading away to the point of obscurity. Besides that, anyone willing to pay more than $2500 for that car no matter who owned it needs to re-examin their life.

Have you seen what old baseball cards have been going for? Talk about needing re-examined.

I would have paid $5,500 for the car, probably even more. Lennon was an icon and the values of these things ebb and flow. Much like Elvis stuff. I'm sure in a different time it would have gone for much more.

Really? Obscurity? I just don't see it. Just because a beater 39-year-old Town & Country that doesn't run brought probably 5-10x what it's physically worth doesn't mean that this "fascination with Lennon and the Beatles" is fading into obscurity.
