96 achieva starts then stalls

I have a 96 achieva with the 2.4. I am having problems with the car starting and them stalling 2-3 seconds later. It started running rough so I replaced the plugs, plug insulators, and coil pack shroud. Still ran rough and then wouldn't start at all. Finally figured out the shroud was jumk and replaced it yet again(power out from the packs but no spark at the plugs). Got the car started but still ran like crap. Found that the fuel pressure regulator was dumping fuel. When I replaced that then it decided to run great but only for seconds. My mechanic and I are both stumped on this one. I only ever got the p0300 code and that was the only code that he ever got. The car starts and then losses injector pulse. If you cycles the ignition it will continue to run and then stall to your hearts content. No codes at all. The ETS light is on and has been on for the last year but I have never had any problems. One thing my mechanic caught that I missed was that the security light never comes on when you turn the key on. He recommended that I replace the instrument cluster but it couls also be the ignition switch or the pass key system. Any help would be appreciated

Im having the exact same problem, I changed all of the ignition set up, the coils, coil cover, and boots and plugs. Still same problem. Have you been able to figure the problem out yet?
