Re: Still no 1/24 injection molded Porsche 997 kits?

...and because no one else is mentioning it, there is this first mentioned here along with the RSR body that you can work with.

It doesn't fit the Tamiya 100% but of course, it isn't that much work to make it fit.

...yes, but the body is totally wrong, looks like a bad toy, my opinion

but what is more worthwhile;
giving it a go to make this look good or complaining that there is no kit of the car?

Re: Still no 1/24 injection molded Porsche 997 kits?

I never said you did but some people don't like die-cast kits and only seem to want things in a kit.
I understand that not everyone has the time or patience or skill or means (or any variation/combination of those) to modify an existing kit into a car they want on their shelves but then again, complaining about it doesn't make it happen either, right?

Re: Still no 1/24 injection molded Porsche 997 kits?

If he's got enough money he'll find a resin caster that will happily make a resin copy of the Welly 997 (which is superb, I modified two of those you see in the pic above).

So, buying a ~ € 12,- DieCast is one option. Having one cast in resin will cost anywhere between € 100,- and 400,-

Oh... now that we talk about it. HobbyDesign sells a Resin kit of an Audi TT - a 100% copy of a really nice DieCast. Now... does that make sense?

Buy a DieCast, take it apart and you have a nice kit to start with

I almost forgot about that atrocity...

They chose the most ridiculous livery ever and went with that...

You didn't know?! (It's got Fujimi logo on the door.)
I already pre-ordered a few.
Mine will be 2009 Nur winner and 2010 Hybrid (I'm sure someone will print decals), as well as Miku (lol).

Figures...

This looks so retarded I might be tempted to try building one!

Re: Still no 1/24 injection molded Porsche 997 kits?

Surely this will be one of those kits that gets exploited by Fujimi and issued in multiple liveries. If you don't like what they are doing for the first issue, don't buy it! Wait for a better livery. When was the last time they issued a modern race car in only one livery?

Doesn't the hybrid have different rear fenders w/a vertical intake?

If it helps them to sell kits I'm all for it.

You can bet companies like Studio 27 will have decals for it when the kit comes out, anyway.

I, for one, think it's kinda cool. It's just different from the "norm". I don't particularly like the anime thing (kinda freaky) but hey--who am I to call anyone/thing odd...
