Fuel Pump Fuse keeps blowing.
1995 Oldsmobile 98 3.8 Supercharger
The car started blowing the 20 amp fuse randomly starting last spring. It only happened on occasion and I replaced the fuel filter after it started happening. This did not fix the prob. Recently it started happening more often so this last Saturday we replaced the fuel pump(used) and visibly looked for bare wire(as much as we could) and the problem is still happening. I will say tho that when we removed my back seat it was very wet underneath it as well as some wet in trunk. No clue where this water is coming in from but it rained a ton Fri and Sat. Here are some interesting points: 1 Car blows fuse if I take off too fast from a stop while in drive. 2 Car is fine if I take off fast or slow while in reverse. 3 I can put car in neutral and rev engine and fuse will not blow. 4 After I get car going in drive I can hammer on it all I want and fuse will not blow. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks. and let me know if more info is needed.

Re: Fuel Pump Fuse keeps blowing.
Intermittent issues are a pain. Check fuel pressure, do an amp draw test on the pump. There is an oil pressure switch in parallel to the fuel pump relay. A redundant power supply to the pump, just something to check.
