Hunting Wildlife with your minivan

I would not recommend it however, if you must I suggest a Turkey. My neighbor got his Thanksgiving Turkey that way one year and the 96 Caravan had minimal damage. Their experience was why I did not brake as hard for that Turkey flock this Summer as I could have. Not only were the Turkeys on a blind hill, but it was raining buckets. Thankfully I avoid that Wildlife, but my luck ran out recently.

Well I engaged in a little of wildlife hunting with my 95 Voyager without my consent and now I am waiting to see what the insurance company says.

Was driving home last week when a young Buck ran out from the passenger side and I basically head butted it with my headlight/grill cover. Since my headlights are not good I was already doing 45 or so before I hit the Deer which is why the damage is not worse.

So I have a damaged Radiator and AC Condenser, but the Condenser took most of the brunt, but both are bent. Grill Cover is ruined, Passenger Side Headlight, and Turn Signal are cracked and need replacing. The Fender is pushed back a bit and out so the Passenger Door cannot be opened. The Bumper Cover needs to be replaced and so does the Rub Strip on the Passenger Door. Funny enough the Rub Strip actually flew off the Passenger Door and landed in front of the Voyager only to get run over. Not sure what to do about the skull sized dent in the Passenger Door, or slight dent in to Hood from the Deer, but I will figure that out.

When this same Voyager hit a Spotted Fawn 15 years ago the damage was worse because the speed was about 53 MPH and the Fawn was standing right in the road. At least the Buck I hit did not suffer. Kind of weird how all the pieces fall together in life.

I will update this as events occur.
