Re: 88 Park Avenue codes

Try and get a scanner on it see what the pcm sees for a temp reading, you should not have code 14/15 this can make it run rich.

Re: 88 Park Avenue codes

OK, the mechanic through in the towel so me and the wife drove in and brought the old PA back home. It's up to me now to figure this thing out. The mechanic said that when he plugged in his fancy stuff the "readings" or what ever he called it would come and go so he was unable to make a diagnosis based on that. He then checked all the stuff that I already had checked.
On the way home as it was missing and bucking I noticed that the speedometer was jumping around and the temp light was flashing on and off as well as the service light. I could also here a relay clicking under the dash that seemed to follow the same rhythm. IDK, going to maybe replace the ECM, Autozone 70 bucks. What you all think?

Re: 88 Park Avenue codes

OK, reading the electrical schematic for this beast I noticed that there is a " Power steering idle pressure switch" and low and behold I started having power steering problems about the same time this problem started, the pump is dry and I think the high pressure line from the pump has blown out....hmmmm.....could low power steering pressure be causing all this? Surely not......

Re: 88 Park Avenue codes

Alright, here it is......I replaced the PCM and all is well in our 88PA world once again. Thing cost 85 bucks at Checker.

I want to thank you all for your great advice! Couldn't have done it without you.

Regards, Don
