airbag light on after battery drain
My 99 Taurus recently had to have the battery and alternator replaced. After the repair, the airbag light turns on and stays on. It does not flash at all nor turn off.
I checked all three airbag related fuses, #16 under hood fuse, #11 and #13 under dash fuses and they are all good. I hate to take it to a dealer and have them charge me $100 for just looking. I would appreciate any guidance on how I can resolve this without gong to the dealer. I had heard that the airbags are inop as long as the light is on and as my children are the main drivers, I would like to have operative airbags. |

Re: airbag light on after battery drain
I know you said the light does not flash, but does it flash if you turn the key to the Run position? If so, it is probably flashing out a code that will help us guide you in the appropriate direction. If it's a flash, pause, flash, flash, pause, that would indicate a Lamp Fault Code of 12.

Re: airbag light on after battery drain
I just verified again. It is on solid as long as the key is in the run position. No flashing at all.
