Transmission going into limp mode

I have been having some trouble with my transmission going into limp mode. I recently had two of the solenoids changed after codes said that this was the problem. However, after having solenoids changed my truck is still going into limp mode.
Got in my truck last night to go to town and my transmission went back into limp mode. I put it in park, turned the truck off, sit there for a minute, turned it back on and it was fine. Just so happens that a guy that works with me brought me one of those Auto Zone scanners in case I had anymore trouble. I run the codes last night and these are the codes I got. Here is a list of the codes I got in order from 1 to 3. P0740 , P0785 , P2761. Anyone got any advice for me on these codes? Once again I have a 2005 Cheverolet silverado 1500 4 wheel drive.

What engine and transmission?
Were codes cleared after soenoids replaced?
I do not find P2761 code?
Did they give you a defenition for that code?
Your codes 740 and 785 may be electrical problem to selnoids.
Have you checked for power to selenoids and wiringinside and pluginand wiring outside of transmission?

Ok I found code 2761.
TCC solenoid lectrical problem.
You need to check wiring inside tranmision forpower to it and wiring and connctions.
And do not forget fuses to solenoid power.
Let us know what you fnd there.

Re: Transmission going into limp mode

Could be but there is no way they can test it or be sure what it is over the phone!!!!!
Needs proper testing first.
Let us know how it goes.

Re: Transmission going into limp mode

We hope they read it right.
I ALWAYS USE A VOLT METER OR TEST LIGHT TO TEST SWITCH.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

They said they tested all that as well. I hope they are right more than anyone.

That is why you never, ever throw parts at a car based on a trouble code. That trouble code only tells you what system or circuit the problem is in. It never points out exactly what part to replace. You still have to troubleshoot and confirm the problem.

If its still working correctly after all this time you should be good.
Thanks for the report.

This is a very good report as not all tranny problems are inside the transmission.

I don't think the tranny repairman would check for this !

Re: TCC, code 2761 redux

I know this is an old thread, and seemingly has a solution, but I have suddenly been getting an intermittent P2761 code on my 2005 Suburban with no apparent other symptoms. Here's what the AZ scanner printed out: P2761 = TCC PC selenoid control circuit; the ECM commanded the TCC PWM selenoid on and off and the input voltage was outside expected parameters. Probable cause: open or short circuit condition or faulty TCC selenoid.

In the OP's case it was a voltage problem and not the TCC selenoid. I am not experiencing any shifting issues at this time....engine light on or off. This is shortly after the far away shop replaced my water pump. I assume they followed the manual and disconnected the neg bat cable first. Or, NOT. I had the oil changed by someone else and they checked all the visible elect. connections both up top and under the truck. All seem ok. I did tap on the main harness connection just off the r.rear corner of the battery with my cane. Dunno if that did anything or not, but the ck eng. light is off right now.

So, maybe ther'e a consistent source of electrical path weakness that sets off this code and could affect the tranny. Any others with similar experience and solutions are requested to chime in. As of this minute I really don't know what to check next.
