Question 2006 BMW 330xi - Yes or No?

Hey everyone,

A local dealer is selling a 2006 BMW 330xi for $19,000. The car itself is beautiful. However, it has roughly 78,000 miles on it. I will be using the car to commute to college, and was wondering how it will hold up.

The longevity of BMWs is a mystery to me; I'm hoping one of you will know. If it matters, the car is a manual. So my real question revolves around the reliability of the model.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The reliability is there,,, but there is a lemon with bad history in every bunch.

Can you provide a link to check for red flags ? " dealers website ?

Thanks for the quick response! And here is the link to the dealer page. They just got the car in stock, so the website isn't updated and doesn't have information or pictures about the specific car. Hope it helps!

Great! Thank you so much for everything. I do have the VIN number for the car; I went back and grabbed it. It is:

Thanks again man!

Re: 2006 BMW 330xi - Yes or No?

Here is the info I obtained.
The vehicle was a trade - in from a second owner, the vehicle has just been advertised in the newspaper at $18.450.

The vehicle is being sold AS IS with 3th party warranty's available a your expence " third party warranty's are out of the question.

I asked about vehicle being negotiable " vague low key answer told me " NO " if you have done a bit of study on my website, try to take them on for size.

I asked about hidden fees besides taxes - yes $176. will be tagged on plus cost of plates or transfer.

I asked about dealership policy taking vehicle for an independent inspection,,, that was a no,,, when I pressed the issue it came down to will have to get the OK from up the ladder.

SUMMARY,,, Do what you wan't,,, but personally a deal at any price would not be sealed without me being allowed an independent inspection at a BMW dealer.

PS,,, I forgot to ask if they supply a history report,,, another key factor you must be able to view before making a decision.

If you are a college student, the service later on for high mileage will be somewhat expensive. Just FYI.

BMWs are known to be expensive to repair and maintain, so just keep that in mind. but as Ray said, definitely have any used car inspected before you purchase it. If they will not let you take it off the lot to have it looked at by a mechanic, the used car inspection company AiM Mobile Inspections will go to the dealership to inspect it for you if they allow.
