1997 gp front tire play

yes, my gp has excessive play when i jack car up, the wheel can be moved approx 1/8" verticle and horzitonal. i changed ball joints and still have problems with play. what is considered excessive play? could it be the front hub bearing making it have the play?

Re: 1997 gp front tire play

there should be no play. get someone to move tire back n forth while you look at all
connection points.if you are getting an 1/8 of play make sure your not just moving the other wheel
btw as things wair out you will have some play so maybe some movement is possible/ok

Re: 1997 gp front tire play

a hub bearing will cause excessive play at all positions, 12-6, 9-3, 2-8, etc. If the play is only evident at 12-6, then check the control arm bushings next.
