Where is tranny dipstick and refill?

Now I'm not a complete idiot, but I'm having trouble locating the dipstick level check and refill location for my 05' tundra DC with the V8. My Haynes manual says it should be right there, between the firewall and block! But it's not! Any help would be most appreciated.

My 2000 Tundra has a dipstick but I think they didn't put them on your year. I guess the dealership just wanted to be able to make more money off you.

Re: Where is tranny dipstick and refill?

Come on guys, someone has to know! They have to fill and drain it from somewhere, dont they? It's the first year of the 5-speed auto, if that helps!

Re: Where is tranny dipstick and refill?

Your truck may just be "sealed for life". A few of the newer trucks do not require regular changes. I encountered this while looking at a used 2005 Mercury Mountaineer a few years back. I looked under the hood and scratched my head...where's the damn dipstick? Even the dealer didnt' know.

Look in the maintenance section of the owner's manual and see if there is anything in there pertaining to checking or changing the tranny fluid. But I for one want to be able to check it.

Hope this helps!

Side note: I didn't buy the Mountaineer because it had obvious tranny issues during the road test. A**hole dealer wanted to tack on the cost of fixing it to the price, so I told him to shove it.
