Cool Z8!!!

I was merging onto the Henry Hudson Parkway North from the 79th street entrace in NYC last Monday evening (probably about 9:00 to 9:30 p.m. or so), and I saw a convertible in the left lane with familiar but uncommon tail lights. I drew closer, and sure enough, there was a beautiful BMW Z8!! First time I'd seen one in real life (i.e. not in a showroom or something like that).

I honked at the driver and nodded, did the whole thumbs up, and then did the gratuitous revving of my '85 Marquis' 3.8-liter V6. The guy barely glanced aver at me from his conversation (cell phone - no hands-free kit either), but I didn't care. I was so excited to see one. I even called my friend Jay Kim in Chicago, right there on the highway, and told him how pumped I was by the siting.

The first real one I saw was about a month after they came out. It was parked just down the street from me. Pretty good considering I live in a Middle-Class Suburbian world.

I saw my favorite Z8 - a silver one with the red/black interior in Dallas. A very elegant old lady was driving it in 40 degree weather with the top down. You have to admire that!

The Z-8 is one of the only supercars I have ever seen in my state. I have seen the same one twice and I live in Rhode Island. Considering that it is a rare find to see such a rare car here.

Funny you should mention that. I thought the same until i saw an ad for a Topaz Blue one in the sunday papers yesterday. if youre interested it only had 4k miles and was priced at £49,ooo. Doesnt sound too expensive to me for what the car is
