Scratches!
In my efforts to finish off my grand junction produce model, I decided to give the paint (duplicolor black) a wetsand to remove the orangepeel. The orangepeel DID go away, but when I polished out the haze with tamiya compound it left a lot of swirly scratches. I've tried using tamiya wax to fill the scratches, but no luck. What would you guys recommend?

What grit sandpaper did you use? Maybe try some automotive scratch remover like 3M or Meguiars.

600, then finished off with 1500.
it really needed the 600grit... I'm gonna try some meguiar's scratchx if nothing goes...

The 1500 grit probably didn't get rid of all the 600 grit scratches.
Respray, then sand exclusively with 1500 grit under running water, then try compound, or try Meguiars ScratchX if you have some

I'd have to agree with Dan......the 600 was to course to start with.
Id either try sanding with 2000 grit then polish again and see what happens. The other was how often did you change the cloth. Rubbing with the cloth at the same place only picks up the paint in the cloth and can scratch the paint work if it becomes to "clogged". A good rule i do is one panel at a time.....change to new part of cloth

you should never go directly from 600 to 1500. you should always work your way up. also, 600 is to coarse to start with when finishing a model.
