1995 Villager AC problem
Hello,
My 1995 Villager is not blowing cold at either front or rear vents. When I initially checked the compressor would not engage with AC on. Checking low side pressure (front & rear on max AC) with a gauge (from a recharge kit)...under 12 psi. Considering it low on R134a, using one 12 oz can…recharge until compressor engaged. Checked the temperature from vents was still blowing hot air. Added more from same can (almost all), still no cool air. Compressor stays engaged, never cycles. Here are some readings: All of the following reading was done in garage with doors open. Garage temperature was a range of 117-122 F degrees. Static low pressure (AC off) just under 130 psi. Output air with AC off: Front 120 F degrees and read 117 F degrees. Dynamic low pressure (AC on) was 55 psi. Output air with AC on (front & rear on max): ~ same as above…Front 120 F and rear 117 F. Based on the initial low pressure reading, the system indicated empty. But only one 12 oz can was used to recharge. I am not sure if this is appropriate based on the high temperatures here. Also note the van had been sitting around for a while. Prior to hiatus, the AC was working with no problems. Also, I drove it several miles before doing the recharge and readings. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance, Wide Track |
