fuel problem
i recently replaced the fuel pump and filter on my 03 tahoe 5.3 engine and when i come to a stop it stutters and shuts off. any idea what it could be? The check engine light is not on. and i got the airtex e3508m fuel pump

Did the new pump come with a fuel sock that attaches to the bottom of the fuel pump or did you use the old one. In either case if the sock is not on tight but was a loose fit it may fall off and now the pump has sediment on the intake screen causing low volume. I have seen them fall off first hand. It should go on as a tight fit. You should really use a GM pump when it comes to replacement there is a difference in performance.

yes it did have the sock. so i have to drop the tank again? could it be sumthing to do with the compression also?

I would only drop the tank if you recall the sock fitting loosely. I don't understand what compression you are talking about. Was the truck doing this prior to the pump replacement?

no it wasnt it would only die out then it wouldnt start until i would bang on the gas tank
