I have a 97 mustang Gt 4.6 V8. I have been popping a code for cylinder 5 misfire. replaced plugs wires coil packs swapped injectors and have checked vaccuum lines. yet still doggish and showing a misfire. compression good in cylinder and not burning oil. Im confused.. any other idea's

After you swapped the wire and injector it still misfires on cylinder 5? Is the 97 still EDIS or COP ignition? If COP, maybe their is a problem with the electrical connector? Infact, I suppose it could be the connector on the fuel injector, too.
