Are there any female modellers out there?

I was just wondering, because I've been building model cars since in my teens and have never had a girlfriend and I'm now in my mid forties (does it count if you have a one night stand with the same woman a few times? For cash?). I sort of imagined I would be more attractive to the opposite sex if I owned the real cars but because I can't afford them, maybe by owning a 1/24 scale model might be the next best thing. Perhaps I've been unlucky because girls don't like guys who can't build decent models.

Re: Are there any female modellers out there?

Don't worry girls don't like guys that build models at all

They smell of toluene insthead trendy flavours, they do late at appointment, and if they don't get late they have paint spots on jeans, they mess up the kitchen, they uses the oven to dry up paints before she do the apple pie, they get one hart attack any hobby shop.... but worst a modeler do ever modeler cubs....

BTW I think I do decent model, I live with a wonderful woman (with a lot of patience against my hobby......... aaaalllllllllot.....) and I got 3 modeler's puppies... one even is a girl and do better models than me LOL

So may be you're right

Welcome and share your not-decent jobs: we help you to achieve decent results and you'll find a cute woman for free

ciao!

uh... no. I think this is his poor attempt at calling all of us forum members losers because we build models...

Re: Are there any female modellers out there?

Funny you mention that, stryfe. 'Cause first, I HAVE encountered lady modelers (who tend to have damnable beginner's luck with their first paint jobs); and second, I've had more girlfriends than I can count.

Of course, I keep my modeling to myself. What really impresses the ladies are my madd skillz trolling internet boards.

'Cause of course, that's SO MUCH KOOLER than playing with boxes of plastic...

Re: Are there any female modellers out there?

I really dont think model building has anything to do with a lack of girls.. Ive never had a problem. My girl travels around this side of the us with me to all the shows I vend. She helps me at my tables.. I see girls at most every show either buying stuff themselves or hanging out with their guys. So not all girls are against the hobby. Ever notice most every girl will say there turns offs include Guys with no self confidence. Grow a pair dude and enjoy life, be proud of your hobby, be proud of yourself. Why would a girl want to spend time with you if you are always talking down on yourself..

I think most ladies would rather have a man buy and build models than blow money in unsavory places

Re: Are there any female modellers out there?

My wife to be ( next month!! ) used to sit side by side at a table each in the spare room and i would model and she would scrapbook, now we have bought a bigger house we have a whole room each!!

With some offspring planned for next year, no problems with females here!

Probably has more to do with this attitude about women than it has to do with model building or not being able to afford a 1:1...

Congratulations!

As someone who's also engaged, I think I can say with good authority that having a good relationship is like building a good model - show a lot of attention, care, and love, and don't just try to throw money at it. WTF?
