Blower Resistor Mounting Problem

Ok, I have searched the threads here and can't find my problem anywhere. My blower resistor went out on my 2004 Silverado CrewCab. It is part number 15-8770, which has been superseded by part number 15-81087. The problem is the 15-8770 used an adapter piece in order to match up with the mounting holes on the fan housing. The new 15-81087 also does not line up with the mounting holes but the old adapter piece is the wrong shape to fit the new part. Hasn't anyone else had a problem with this? The 15-8770 is the one with the resistive wire traces. The 15-81087 is the one with the ceramic core. Electrically it works fine but it really needs to mount securing int he air duct. Has anyone had this problem or know of a solution?

I just repaired a truck 3 weeks ago . the resistor module is installed opposite as the original . so just rotate 180deg.

Re: Blower Resistor Mounting Problem

Thanks j cat,
I swear I tried it in all orientations and couldn't get it to work. Today I got part number 15-81086 on my way home and it fit prefect.
