What to use to clean engine????
Hi Everyone, I have just a general question. I need to clean off the oil on the engine. Smoking really bad when started up after it sat for a while. Not sure what product is best to use. Can anyone suggest something/brand to use? Also people have told me to just buy a can of cleaner, spray it on and then use garden hose to spray the engine down. Spraying your engine is okay? That wont mess anything up will it? thanks in advance.

Re: What to use to clean engine????
What they told you is correct. I only use engine cleaner if it is very dirty.
I like to keep my engine clean, I just spray it with SUPER CLEAN and hose it off. Dont use a power washer on your engine the garden hose will do just fine. |

Re: What to use to clean engine????
Or you could fix the engine oil leak. Which if this is a 3800 motor, probably a leaky valve cover gasket. If so, and left un-repaired, it could be cause a fire.
