How to de-pressurize fuel system? (Or do I really need to)?
Replacing fuel filter on my 2002 Silverado HD2500. Have changed a lot of fuel filters, but not yet on this truck. My 88 Silverado and 96 Chevy Van didn't require de-pressurizing the system to change the fuel filter. Do I really need to do so on this truck? Or can I do like I did on my other vehicles - just wrap a shop rag around the connections before I break them loose? Thanks.

pull the relay or fuse for fuel pump and let it run till it quits, after new filter is in and fuse or relay back in , turn key on/off 4 or 5 time to prime the sytem,
