Trabant 601 revell

Hi everybody

I've been watching your threads for a long time before I had the guts to write my first WIP in English (I'm french so you can easily imagine how good is my english )

So this is my curent project , I hope to be in the right forum MOTORSPORT even if this car maybe not a frightening real sport machine but I just like this car and kit...and thought that would be a real pleasure to build it with a little improvements...

starting to check if everything is fitting correctly

And it fits perfectly for a revell kit... trunk and hood opening in this kit !

So I did not loose time and primered the body...

Safety wheel in the trunk.... just in case !

I wanted body color to be grey, same as primer color... so I did vernish tests directly on some spare parts painted in primer... looks OK for a Trabant color...

So I decided to go ahead and I have vernished the roof (that is also separate from the car body ).

I also made inside, all black mat color with lots of kilometers already made for this one !

Same process for frame, to give to this car an "after race" look

That's it for now... Hope you'll like it...

Bye

Re: Trabant 601 revell

Thank you for your comments.
For chassis weathering, I just paint it flat black, and used this :

My wife offered it to me and actually, application is really easy and the results is really really nice...

I vernish the rest of the body (except hood that I will try to improve, I added an air intake)

and started body weathering

Thanks for watching...

Doh...I managed to miss this build completely! Absolutely fantastic job you've done there and I love that 'macho' sporty exhaust pipe! LOL!
