I got your PM. Thanks for clarifying you have the manual climate control unit. Based on your various symptoms I agree it sounds like a bad ignition switch and harness assembly. Any other accessories not working or acting up. Headlamps flashing on and off? Is the cruise control working? How about all other lighting?
