02 Grand Prix Acceleration Problem

Often when accelerating the car will jerk a little, tach will jump up and down, engine feels like its running out of gas.
If I let go of the gas and push again then usually it works okay.
Had a full infector cleaning, changed plugs & cables, replaced fuel filter.
No lights ever come on, no codes when scanning.
Any suggestions?

Re: 02 Grand Prix Acceleration Problem

I suspect a bad Cat. 02 Grand Prixs along with alot of other 02 W-body's have a TSB on catylatic converters, and have an extended warranty of 10 years/120K. Unfortunatly it looks like you wouldnt be covered though.

Even though you are over the 120k limit of the extended warranty, call a dealer with your VIN#, they may still be willing to cover it for you if in fact the converter is the issue.
