Lotus 79, Hasegawa 1/20
I finished the new Lotus 79 by Hasegawa, a nice and detailed kit. Compared to Tamiya or Fujimi Kits, the details are a bit more delicate, on the other hand the plastic is rather soft and parts are sometimes difficult to attach, as there are less pins for glueing the part on.
The car was painted with TS14 per airbrush, Zero 1k clear and Tamiya wax an top. OOB Decals except for replacement wing decals (thanks to Michael from Indycals) after i botched the paintwork. Chassis with Alclad Aluminium, the gold came from a paint marker but I used a brush to paint it, the rest was done with Aquacolor. The tiremarkings were airbrushed, several wires, rubber lines and guitar strings were used for cables and hoses, I made the belts from Leukosilk and etched parts from KA Models, also some etched DZUS were used, the mesh is from MrModel, the heat shield was made from alu foil rubbed over a mesh. It's not perfect, the front wing is a bit steep, I intend to make the Tamiya one better, with etched parts and JPS Decals. Hope you like it. Agree 100% about the build!
Don't agree that it's the best looking F1 car ever...not even close. |
