Thermostat location 86 735I

looking for the location of the thermostat on my 86 735i; got an idea, but do not want to start ripping parts off that I do not haqve to. First time BMW owner, so looking for a little help. Also, if anyone knows where to get a repair manual without having to sell a limb for one I'd greatly appreciate it. Checked ebay and just can not locate one. Got the Owners Handbook, but that isn't enough for heavy maintenance. Thanks again.

Thermostat is where the three thick coolant hoses join together that is the thermostat housing, and on top of it you will see the bleeder screw.
