This was the first year anyone from my school ran in teh compition, and there are a couple rules that i wasnt too clear on. They were the no remote control, i feel it should be radio control, so i show up with my vehicle setup in radio control fashion the day before and i need to change the electrical system the night before (thank god i had a mechinical speed control laying around the house. And every vehicle must have working head lights, regardless. The judges said that for first year competitors, they rarely even finish a lap, i ended up in fourth, and almost ended up in second place (they had time for a third set of runs and two people knocked me down). I also set the apce for the race next year through most of the course, all in all, it was fun and i got a couple buisness cards out of it, and compliments on my vehicle. also there was more like 2 inches of water, not one. feel free to ask me any questions about this. p.s., i only had 2 weeks to build a vehicle for this while others have been using the same vehicle for at least 4 years.
