idle problem
Does anyone know why a b-series engine would idle at 1500 all the time....even when it is warmed up
Could it be the throttle position sensor? what other reasons can there be for such high idle??? thanks for your help

your engine might be running in Limp-Home-Mode (the technical term). it is a sort of safe mode. You would haveto check the codes in your ecu to figure that out. otherwise, you could do what my friend and I did whith his BMW that was idleing around 1.5k: shave down a cork from a wine bottle and put it in the AIC (Automatic Idle control) hose. Worked like a charm.

on your throttle body is a fairly large screw, if it's never been adjusted it probably has a little film on it, tear the film off if it's there and slowly turn the screw while then engine is running and have someone sit in the car and watch the tach, i've heard about 650 is normal
